Blair McGuffie - Aquatics Director
Blair started swimming competitively at age 6, on a YMCA summer swim team. She swam for five years, on the Mississippi Makos Swim Team and for three years on the Madison Central H.S. Swim Team.
She started lifeguarding at 15 and spent her high school summers guarding at Traceland North Pool. She has since lifeguarded for SeaWorld Orlando, Hinds Community College, C.C. Ranch Daycare, and for the Girl Scouts. After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2008 with a degree in Marine Biology, she lived on the Mississippi coast as a Strandings and Rehabilitation Specialist, working with marine mammals and sea turtles. In 2012, she moved back to the Madison area to be closer to family. In 2018, she started at the Madison Healthplex as a lifeguard and swim lesson instructor before becoming the Aquatics Director in 2020.
Ms. McGuffie is an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, ARC Water Safety Instructor and a Certified Pool Operator by the National Pool Association. She is a member of The Association of Aquatics Professionals and the American Canoeing Association. She is also a professional pet sitter and beach bum!
